Inspiration 5K Run/Walk for Special Olympics Calvert County.
Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons; the run/walk starts at 10:00. Free (T-shirts for those with at least $25 in pledges.) Special Olympics Calvert County will host its fifth annual Inspiration 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons; the run/walk starts at 10:00 a.m. Participants can be part of a leisurely walk through Solomons or a more competitive 5K race, marked by the Calvert County Sheriff?s Office. All are welcomed and encouraged to join in the festivities and there is no charge to participate; however, those who pledge or donate at least $25 will be given an Inspiration 5K Run/Walk T-shirt. Water and snacks will be provided. Charles County's 7th Annual Heritage Bike Ride

Don't miss out on a great day of biking through beautiful Western Charles County! Start your day at the End of the Road in scenic Nanjemoy, and enjoy a ride with stops at local points of interest. The western section of Charles County will delight you with its sense of serenity and history. There are three recreational routes to choose from: 100k, 50k, or 25k. Each route begins and ends at the Nanjemoy Community Center. Refreshments, sag wagons, and rest stops included. This event is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 7:30am-3:00pm; check in is 7:30-9:30am, and the last SAG run is 3:00pm. Riders age 10-15 must be accompanied by a paying adult and may only ride the 25k route. The Charles County Department of Community Services believes safety is a TOP priority, helmets are required for all riders. A free Heritage Bike Ride T-shirt with an exciting new design is available to all who register by May 9. COSMIC Symphony presents To B & B & B!
COSMIC Symphony's final concert of the season features Bernstein’s Candide Overture, Bizet’s Carmen Fantasie for Solo Saxophone featuring the world’s preeminent classical saxophonist Gary Louie, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 (Eroica). COSMIC will continue its tradition of combining the visual arts with performance with its “Do You See What I HEAR?” project showcasing artworks created by area students. The performances are at Great Mills High School in St. Mary's County, on Saturday, May 17, at 7 pm, and at Huntingtown High School in Calvert County,on Sunday, May 18, at 4 pm. Tickets are $35.00 family, $20.00 individual, and $18 for seniors (55+), students, special needs and military patrons.
